An area of culture, creativity and high technology, Sarasota County is served by a variety of local, national and international media outlets. Both businesses and residents take advantage of the latest technological advances in high-speed, extended capacity telecommunications services. The area has one of the highest concentrations of personal computer owners in the world.

Television stations serving our area include ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC affiliates, public television and local news channels. Ten radio stations are located within Sarasota County, with 40 more stations in neighboring counties, including all major affiliates. Formats range from all-news to jazz, sports, classical, country, rock, Hispanic and contemporary.

Sarasota has its own daily newspaper, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, which has multiple zoned editions serving the area, along with a 24-hour television news station, SNN. Local weekly publications include the Longboat Observer, Siesta Key's Pelican Press and a business newspaper, the Gulf Coast Business Review. Residents can receive door-to door delivery of nearly every major national and international newspaper.

Nine magazines originate from Sarasota County, including those specializing in business, the arts and the social scene.
