Don Burris gained international acclaim when he successfully argued the famous "Woman in Gold" lawsuit before the US Supreme Court in 2004. The case, which later became the subject of a 2015 feature film, involved a claim by Maria Altman that the Austrian government had stolen six Gustav Klimt paintings from her family when they were forced to flee during the Nazi annexation of Austria in World War II. In the years following his successful prosecution of the case, Burris has devoted his career to the pursuit of art works and other assets stolen by Nazi authorities before and during the war. He will reflect on these efforts and the challenges he has faced during his talk, which is open to the public.

In addition, Burris has asked the Jewish Housing Council Foundation to notify the press that he is available for interviews prior to and leading up to the engagement.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities for “Nosh & Knowledge” are available by contacting the Jewish Housing Council Foundation office at 941-203-6237 or by emailing Director of Development Johnette Cappadona at
