PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP CREATES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY  FOR DOWNTOWN SARASOTA  

    The City of Sarasota, The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce (GSCC), and Sarasota Downtown Improvement District (DID) have appointed Randy Welker as the first Economic Development Coordinator for downtown Sarasota.
    This unique position is funded by this organizational consortium because we believe that the success of our region is inextricably tied to the economic health of downtown Sarasota. Having an experienced, full time professional, focused on increasing pedestrian activity, supporting and growing current business and attracting new ventures to downtown will enhance our community, grow our tax base and add more jobs.
