Intercity Best Practice Visits

In partnership with the Economic Development Corporation (EDC), The GSCC uses resources of its Sarasota Tomorrow initiative and assembles a diverse delegation of business, elected and civic leaders in order to see and hear first hand some of the innovative ideas and programs in other cities. Previous visits have taken teams of delegates to Asheville, NC (2009) and Chattanooga, TN (2010).

For the 2011 visit, Greenville was chosen due to its incredibly vibrant downtown, very successful economic development partnerships, comparable size and population, and diverse economy. The South Carolinian city and county accomplished virtually all the objectives of its Vision 2005. Its “Greenville Forward” effort is now addressing opportunities in their 2025 vision.
