Sarasota Tomorrow-Next

The History:

Several years ago, the Sarasota Tomorrow initiative was started to secure a more prosperous future for our area.  Projects Sarasota Tomorrow supported created thousands of jobs and millions of dollars of positive economic impact. According to an independent economic analysis by Policom Corporation, a national economic development research firm, Sarasota Tomorrow returned $416 to the greater Sarasota economy for every $1 invested. As a result of Sarasota Tomorrow’s foresight, leadership, and acumen, Sarasota boasts the Baltimore Orioles spring training. Thanks in part, to Sarasota Tomorrow support and leadership, the US 301 highway rebuild was fast-tracked; existing businesses are expanding and new business are being attracted by the tax abatement incentives-both creating new investment and jobs; and the Nathan Benderson Park is on its way to becoming an internationally acclaimed rowing venue- all championed by Sarasota Tomorrow and the generous and strategic contributions of its civic-minded investors.

Sarasota Tomorrow - Next: The Plan

There remains much to do to meet today’s needs and seize tomorrow’s opportunities.  The Chamber’s Sarasota Tomorrow NEXT initiative (a three-year extension of the successful Sarasota Tomorrow) is working to meet our challenges and make our community’s future.
