Tell us about yourself and your background.

For more than 30 years, I operated a successful software training business in Connecticut, partnering with Fortune 500 companies—including GTE, GE, Aetna, and the Gartner Group—to upskill their workforces on Microsoft productivity applications. Over the last two decades, I expanded my expertise into web development and graphic design, alongside 15 years of crafting impactful social media campaigns for diverse clients. I thrive at the intersection of technology, marketing, and education, which has naturally driven my latest entrepreneurial venture.

What inspired you to start your business?

After relocating to the Sarasota area in 2012, I began teaching technology classes at Suncoast Technical College and within local residential communities. I wanted to expand these community programs, but quickly realized how incredibly labor-intensive it was to identify and contact the entertainment and activities schedulers at each individual community. I knew there had to be a more efficient, tech-forward way to bridge that gap—and that realization was the spark for Community Talent Hub.

What problem does your business solve for customers? What products or services does your business offer? How does your business support or impact the local community? Why is being part of the local business community important to you?

Community Talent Hub serves as the ultimate digital matchmaker for our region. For residential communities, we solve the time-consuming headache of sourcing reliable entertainment, instructors, and educators to fill their event calendars. For local professionals and performers, we offer an affordable, streamlined platform to showcase their skills and directly reach decision-makers.

As a dedicated connector rather than a talent agency, we take no part in bookings or negotiations, ensuring local talent retains 100% of their earnings. Our platform directly boosts the local economy by supporting independent creatives and educators, while simultaneously enhancing the vibrant quality of life for residents in our communities. Being part of the Sarasota business ecosystem is vital to me because a thriving, interconnected community is exactly what Community Talent Hub was built to champion.

How has the Sarasota Chamber ThinkBIG supported your business journey?

As a new member of the ThinkBIG program, I have already experienced the immense value of this network. The program opens doors to countless opportunities to collaborate with other business owners, allowing us to support one another’s growth. Even though I have only attended two events so far, the high-quality connections I’ve made with fellow members have already proven that this community is engaged, welcoming, and collaborative.

What opportunities or goals are you hoping to achieve through ThinkBIG?

My primary goal is to leverage the ThinkBIG program to jumpstart the growth of Community Talent Hub. By diving into the Chamber's educational resources and active networking channels, I plan to build lasting strategic partnerships, increase our platform's visibility, and actively give back to the Sarasota business community that has welcomed me so warmly.
